NAGAWATT

Mission statement

  • Enable boat owners to shift from petrol Internal Combustion Engine (ICE) to electric motor.
  • Make the propulsion kit super-light and ergonomic so it facilitates access to female operators.

First target

  • Longtail boats, widely used across Asia.
  • Fuel is expensive and often imported.
  • These boats are all equipped with highly polluting petrol engines that significantly contribute to greenhouse gas emissions as there are no environmental norm or control for them. They also bring noise pollution, negatively impacting water environments and ecosystems.

NAGAWATT IN THE NEWS - SETTING NEW RECORDS

  • The Nagawatt project, has achieved a groundbreaking feat. During Covid time, we converted a petrol dirt bike to electric propulsion and developed a specific battery pack.
  • Covering a distance of 673km from Vientiane to Pakxe in Champassak province without recharging, the Nagawatt project has set a new world record for the greatest distance ever covered with a bike on a single charge.
  • This achievement greatly surpasses the previous Guinness Book record of 320km in this category. As of mid-2024, this record remains unbeaten.
